Every year, my college roommates and I make a point of getting together over MLK weekend. Our husbands hold down the fort while we’re gone and give us 2 full days and nights to catch up on life, shop, eat without a schedule, and sleep to our hearts’ content.
For the past three years, we’ve stayed at Aloft Greenville Downtown– a hotel that is in the perfect location in Downtown Greenville, SC with walking distance to all of the restaurants and shops on North Main Street.
Some of the best features of this hotel, outside of its amazing location right in the heart of Downtown Greenville, include:
- The WXYZ Bar
- The Re:fuel grab and go station serving Starbucks beverages.
- The hotel is pet-friendly and partners with a local dog rescue organization called Lucky Pup Rescue to adopt dogs. (They have found homes for almost 100 dogs!)
- They feature local artists in the hotel and rotate the artwork every quarter.
- They have live music on Friday and Saturday nights.
The hotel has a fun and swanky feel but the atmosphere makes you feel comfortable whether you’re dressed for a party or in your favorite athleisure wear for the day.
I cannot say enough about the location and views from the upper level rooms. We Ubered in the rain or freezing cold, but could have easily walked all of downtown from the entrance of the hotel.
With such an amazing location, the rates are very affordable with room options that include one king bed, two queens, suites, and cabanas that overlook the pool and fire pit areas on the upper floors.
So whether you are traveling as a couple, with your kids and dog, or getting away for a girls’ weekend, Aloft Greenville Downtown is the perfect hotel for you!
On Sunday morning, we went to Up on the ROOF for brunch, and oh.my.word was it fun. The atmosphere, the views, the food and the service were everything you could possibly want in a city dining experience.
They have an incredible outdoor dining area with fire pits, tvs, and sofas. On a warmer day, it would be the perfect place to spend a Sunday brunch!
