We just returned from a weekend getaway in Downtown Chattanooga, and I am telling you, this place never disappoints. It was our third time visiting in the last 2 years, and it is always so.much.fun.
Every time we visit, we stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites right in downtown. It is directly across the street from the children’s museum and within walking distance of the aquarium as well. In fact, we typically park our car when we arrive and walk everywhere during our stay. It is so conveniently located!
One of our favorite things to do every time we visit is get ice cream from The Ice Cream Show and eat it on the Walnut Street Bridge. This year, the kids had SO much fun running up and down the bridge and then up and down the ramp and stairs adjacent to the bridge. We lost track of how many times they did this, but they were just cackling the whole time!
On Sunday, it rained all day, so it was the perfect day to visit the children’s museum. This place is a kids’ dreamland! They loved the playground and water exploration area, searching for dinosaur bones, and playing in the pretend kitchen and musical instrument areas. We were there for 4 hours and still did not do everything!
If you follow us on Instagram, you saw an inside look through our stories of how amazing the Hampton Inn & Suites is where we stayed. We had a beautiful (and huge!) corner balcony suite that looked right at the children’s museum and gave us plenty of room for sleeping and playing.
I also love that this hotel has a laundry room on the second floor, as our kiddos’ jackets were covered in ice cream our first night! It is so convenient to have this amenity available when you are traveling with young kids!
The kids also love the complimentary breakfast where they can make their own waffles (with our help) and pick out a mini box of cereal to enjoy for dessert. 😉
And let’s not forget about the POOL! The pool is heated year-round and has both an indoor and outdoor section that connects. There are pretty water features and fire pits with eating areas surrounding the pool as well that we highlighted in our stories on Instagram, so be sure to check those out!
