With as often as I quote from and share my favorite parenting books on our Instagram account, this post is long overdue!
I have always loved reading parenting books (even before we had kids!), so I have ready quite a few over the years, and these 5 (plus one devotional) are hands down the favorites on my list.
I like to read parenting books that shift the way I think as a mom and help me better understand our kids in the stages they’re in. I feel like each of these books I’m sharing today do just that.
If you’re looking for that ONE to start with and are trying your best to navigate the world of disciplining toddlers, I would recommend reading No Drama Discipline first.
If you’re looking for a book that will completely revolutionize the way you view your role as a parent of kids at any age (and may take you a year to read because you will want to reread every single paragraph three times), I would highly recommend Paul David Tripp’s book Parenting.
The Positive Discipline books are great quick reads for practical application and can be picked up and put down without feeling like you’re losing track of where you left off. So they’re good books to grab and read a few pages of at night to help reset your mind for the next day.
And speaking of resetting your mind, the Praying Through the Bible for Your Kids devotional is my absolute favorite devotional I have ever read. It is constantly challenging my faith and prepping me for the day ahead. I cannot say enough good things about this devotional!
Here is the complete list with links to each book. And if you have a favorite that I haven’t shared today, I’d love to hear it! Leave a comment below or join the conversation on our Instagram post (found here) on this topic.
