While E and I were at Universal for her 9 trip, Natalie and Matt were in Utah for her 10 trip!

No surprise here, but Matt planned an epic trip for the two of them. Here’s everything they fit in to a few days time!

One of the unique blessings of having 4 kiddos so

One of the unique blessings of having 4 kiddos so close in age is an acute awareness of how quickly each stage folds into the next.

Emily was so excited to wear her new dress on our dinner date during our trip and wanted to show me how it twirled one last time before the night ended. As I watched her spin, I couldn’t help but wonder if this might be one of the last times she twirls so freely, completely unaware of anyone else around her.

We notice the firsts, but we don’t always catch the lasts. 🥹

Getting this extended one-on-one time when we typically travel as a family of six was so special. Mamas (and daddies too!), if you can plan ahead and carve out the time, the location can be anywhere and the budget doesn’t have to be big.

A couple of intentional days together can become memories you’ll both carry forever. 💛

We happened upon the “9 trip” idea but I’m so glad

We happened upon the “9 trip” idea but I’m so glad we did. 🥹 Matt and I are big picture planners and started talking about one-on-one trips when our kids were tiny. We always thought we’d do a 10 trip but knew it wouldn’t work well for us to both be gone at the same time with one kiddo. So we originally said he’d take the boys and I’d take the girls when they turned 10. And we let that idea sit for about 15 seconds before we both chimed in that we each felt bummed that we’d miss out one-on-one time with 2 of our kids! So that’s when we decided that I’d take our kids when they turn 9 and he’d take them when they turn 10. It’s been the most fun time for both of us getting these solo adventures with each of our kids!

May in photos! Oh my goodness May. I love May and also love when it’s over 😅🤣 or at least the first three weeks anyway! We celebrated Mother’s Day, Andrew’s birthday, kindergarten graduation, 5th grade graduation, the last elementary Field Day that all four of our kiddos will have together 🥹, we hosted the whole 5th grade to celebrate the end of their elementary years, we went to a crawfish boil, the kids did a sib bake off challenge, Emily planted some herbs and veggies on our back deck, the girls played in championship games for softball, Matt made an epic chalk mosaic for E in the driveway that everybody got in on coloring, and we snuck in some slow moments reading on the porch, playing baseball in the yard, and swimming as a fam. These are the days 🫶🏼

Big news over here! Ryan is cast free! 🙌🏼 We’ve re

Big news over here! Ryan is cast free! 🙌🏼 We’ve really been so impressed by him and his overall positive attitude these past 6 weeks. Seeing the pure JOY on his face when the cast came off got me! 🥹 Oh and then when I dropped Ryan back off at school, Andrew’s kindergarten class was walking out to recess and he got SO excited to show his friends that his brother got his cast off. It just does big things for my mama heart to see our kids celebrating each other’s big moments. 🥰 Now he strengthens his leg with the help of a walking boot for the next 2 weeks and *hopefully* gets to participate in field day a week later. ☺️ Thank you friends for all of the prayers and support for our guy!

In an unexpected turn of events, Matt and I ended

In an unexpected turn of events, Matt and I ended up solo on what was supposed to be a weekend work trip with his colleagues. So we decided to bring Rosie along too and let her experience the beach for the first time!

- rent a golf cart (the island is car free!)
- ride bikes
- arrange a tee time at Haig Point ⛳️
- visit the (only) adorable coffee shop on island

- check out Daufuskie Island Distillery
