Jade Mountain Resort is already living up to everything we hoped it would be 👏🏼👏🏼

I first found this resort when Matt and I were engaged and looking for places to honeymoon. It was nowhere near our newlywed budget, so we tucked it away on the “one day” bucket list.

19 years later, we are HERE. 🥹

Ever so grateful for the days ahead together in this little slice of paradise—and for the village of friends and family back home who are making this escape for the two of us possible.

Some things are worth the wait. ✨

We’re just getting started, and I already can’t wait to share more of this special place with you! Who else has had Jade Mountain on their bucket list?! 🙋🏼‍♀️

U.S. friends, I have the most fun family or friend outing for you! 👩‍🍳

For Emily’s birthday this year, Matt and I gifted her a cooking class at Taste Buds Kitchen, and she chose to bring her sissy along to make some sweet memories together!

It was the MOST fun experience. Not only did we enjoy a delicious meal together, but we also learned helpful cooking techniques that I’ve actually started incorporating into our meals at home.

My favorite part about the way Taste Buds Kitchen operates is that they teach every class as if everyone attending is CAPABLE—no matter their age or current cooking ability. I loved watching our kids learn new skills, gain confidence in the kitchen, and take so much pride in what they created!

They offer a variety of classes each week, along with private events and birthday parties. We’ve already been back for a birthday party, and now we want to plan an adults-only night with close friends!

And this isn’t just an Atlanta-area find! Taste Buds Kitchen currently has 30 locations across 20 states, so be sure to check their website to see if there’s one near you.

I took the last few weeks of summer off of social

I took the last few weeks of summer off of social media and soaked in the sweetness of slow starts and open days with our kids. And man, if I’m being honest, now that the school year has started, I am not well! 🥹

Something about this transition from summer to a new school year is hitting me harder than years past. All four of our kiddos are growing up so fast! It’s the most fun thing to watch them get older, and I really am ready to celebrate each new season life brings… but Lord help me when they’re all driving themselves places and spending more time with friends than they are at home, because I already want to pump the brakes!

I know these are the days we’re raising them for, but whew… they sure do go fast. 🤍

We’re all still trying to put into words just how special last week on the ranch was for each of us.

What has stood out to me most is that whenever someone asks our kids what their favorite part of the week was, none of them mention the horseback riding, zip lining, rock climbing, rodeo, swimming, or family Olympics.

Every single one talks about the people.

They talk about the counselors who invested in them, the cousins they made memories with, and the new friends they met on the ranch.

And I think that’s what makes Wind River Ranch so special.

Every person we encountered served with such genuine joy and intentionality. It never felt like anyone was simply doing a job or watching the clock. It felt like they truly loved spending time with our kids and genuinely cared about every family who came through the gates.

Matt and I also loved how fully we were able to unplug (what a gift that there’s little to no cell service in most areas of the ranch!). We spent our days horseback riding, hiking, laughing, and making memories alongside our kids. Then, in the afternoons, while they were off adventuring with friends and their counselors, we sat on our front porch and enjoyed uninterrupted time together.

Looking back, it was the perfect blend of faith, family, adventure, rest, and fun—and somehow it all felt beautifully unhurried.

If you’re looking for a family-friendly hike in Ro

If you’re looking for a family-friendly hike in Rocky Mountain National Park, this is the one we’d recommend every time. 🏔️

We hiked from Bear Lake → Nymph Lake → Dream Lake → Emerald Lake with our group of 14 (6 adults + 8 kids!), and it ended up being one of our favorite adventures of the week.

🥾 Trail Details
• Park at the Bear Lake Trailhead.
• Arrive early! The parking lot fills quickly, especially during the summer months. If it’s full, you can use the park shuttle to reach the trailhead.
• Follow the well-marked signs from Bear Lake to Nymph Lake, continue past Dream Lake, and finish at Emerald Lake.
• It’s about 1.8 miles one way to Emerald Lake (3.6 miles round trip), with a steady but manageable climb.

🥪 Our favorite tip: Pack a picnic lunch! We carried sandwiches and snacks in our backpacks and enjoyed lunch overlooking Emerald Lake before making our way back down. It was such a fun reward after the hike.

⏱️ We completed the hike in about 2.5 hours, including lunch and plenty of time to stop, explore, and enjoy each lake along the way.

The views just keep getting better with every lake, and it was a trail our entire group—from kids to grandparents—truly enjoyed.
